The pics show front end damage that doesn't look too bad, but I couldn't shift the car out of D and the passenger door won't open. Hoping for the best but prepping for the worst.

PS - Onstar came on immediately and I cannot say enough good about them. Professional and very effective...police arrived very soon after.

Man that's some scary stuff. Really sorry about your car but glad you came out with only a relatively minor injury.
This is pretty much how my '69 Chevelle was totaled in 1990. Very similar circumstance. Sucks.
