As someone else mentioned, I have seen over 10 HP difference with hood open vs closed on the dyno. There is no set HP number difference this makes.There are many factors that will dictate the difference, to name a few...

Air entry on the specific vehicle being tested
Air box design and entry of air box itself
Air presentation on dyno, fan configuration, etc.


The Camaro in particular has an indirect air duct which can cause variation in dyno results depending on how the air is presented to that duct. As you know, an additional air entry such as the ADM scoop will pick up HP as well. When you look at the air flow configuration of one chassis dyno to another you can easily see some will provide a more accurate representation of a moving vehicle than others. That is not to say anything for or against our intake or anyone elses, it's just one of the many things that can cause variation in dyno testing.
Good post Mike. That was one of things Ted explained to me when I first started working here as to why he put that massive fan tunnel setup in the Dyno room.
