I got lucky this year, as a few sponsors paid the bill to ship my car out to the fest. Otherwise I would be like everyone else in the northeast and not be going. It's still costing me more than I can afford right now. I would have backed out if my car wasn't already 1/2 way there already.
It just seems that if it does wind up in the center of the country, it would wind up WAY south, to make it another super long commute from here. Spending 8 days to travel back and forth to an event that is 2 days long is not how I want to spend my time.
I guess I'll just stop complaining and let the fest go where ever the mods want to put it, and not attend.

I hear ya. I couldn't go last year due to work (and it was more than a day's drive away from me) and this year it's 3 days drive, so I couldn't do it either.
I was hoping it would be more in the NE part of the country next year (where, btw, the largest percentage of the population in the country lives).
It seems to me that it either has to be in the same place every year (which is obviously not what has been decided) or, it should be moved around to allow the most people a chance to go.
It's cool you got sponsors to ship your car and that you will be going this year.
