The spoiler is made of urethane, so it is light weight but solid. Not heavy fiberglass. I had the same concerns, but I spoke to RPI designs and they said it would take an "act of god" to pull this thing off so I was good. Your badges and bow ties are held on with 3M, try pulling off those.
