GM had no real choice to drop the Camaro given sales numbers. For example in 2001 GM only sold 29,009 Camaros period. That is only about one third more than Z28s sold in 1969. More 1969 SS Camaros (36,309) and RS Camaros (37,773) were made than all the Camaros produced in 2001. The people spoke by not putting there money on the Camaro. You can't sell a car line with so few purchases. Maybe GM should have seen this coming, but that all is in the past now. Be thankful the Camaro is back and if people want it to stay that way they should keep buying them. GM listens to sales numbers.
