I guess I owe the folks at CAI an apology. I went out this morning and tinkered around with the fit adjusting things and tightening things and got the thing sitting in there as it was intended. Just needed to slip the ceramic tube into the throttle body elbow sleeve a little tighter as well as the air filter onto the the ceramic tube a little more. Everything fits perfect and nothing is moving around.

It's actually an exceptionally engineered product. (Like I said I'm not THAT mechanically inclined.) It's so easy to work on. I did find the JRE CAI comparo thread. For me I buy something for WOT performance and this product wins on that front. Looking at the CAI HP curve I now see that my seat of pants impression that the car felt stronger up above 6500 RPM. It is.

Driving around town day to day my car never struggled nor am I dissatisfied with it's performance so having more torque and HP at 3k really doesn't matter to me-the motor is plenty flexible for day to day work duties. Putting the pedal to the metal and having the motor run smoother and more powerful up to it's 7000 RPM redline is king in my book and probably at the 1/4 mile track too. LOL.

And if I ever need to swap my stock intake back in, I know I can at least do it in 40 mins or less. Not to mention it just looks so freaking cool.
