It is really up to the service manager to step up and either replace the trans or have a manual specialist tech go through it. Also, there are 2 large magnets at the bottom of the main case and that will attract any metalic debris floating around.

Thanks Rick. I understand the dealer issue. I use to work for a Chevrolet dealer albeit 30+ years ago. I do think there is merit for any owner to sample their various lubricants throughout the life of a vehicle just to see if there is any premature wear. I once saved a $15,000 diesel engine by detecting premature roller cam/lifter wear by doing a sample. Best $20 investment I ever made. Thanks for all of your technical support here! I know EVERYONE is very appreciative of your time and insight.
