We're not referring to the 500, but Lucas Oil Raceway Park, which is in Clermont, IN. It's essentially a suburb of Indianapolis at this point.

Here it is on Google Maps.
Apex Chase has it right, and to further elaborate....

Indianapolis has access to virtually every major highway that crosses a majority of the country.

I-70? Check
US 40? Check
I-65? Check

It's in close quarters to Chicago, St. Louis, Louisville, Bowling Green (Corvette Museum) and Detroit.

It's also got hellafied railway access to virtually any corner of the USA.

As for the tracks available at Lucas Oil Raceway Park....

NHRA Nationals is held here, the NASCAR trucks and Nationwide series have run at LORP, and they also host a ton of other events on a regular basis. So for anyone worrying about space, I'm sure if NASCAR and the NHRA can do it here, I'm sure anyone from C5 will do quite nicely And it's only about 20 minutes from the Indianapolis International Airport too..

Ultimately, I'm just glad to know that the site appreciates good input and listens to us. I think a centralized location, such as the Midwest or Central part of the US is ultimately the best option. It doesn't necessarily have to be early April either...

As for those complaining about weather, prior to this past week, we had had 60+ temps for almost 3 weeks here in Indianapolis....so it's not all doom and gloom. Shoot, despite the storms this week, it's supposed to be in the 70's this week....

All in all, I wouldn't mind driving to something if it was centralized. I just don't want to drive 1500 miles one year, 2400 miles the next....and I'm sure most of us agree with that.
