Tune isn't a requirement for longtubes. If the CEL bothers you a lot, you can get it. I drove mine around for months without a tune and there are others on here that have also run without a tune. I finally went with the tune when I got a nitrous kit.
The tune did make it run slightly smoother(or maybe it was me wanting to feel it) but it didn't give it much more power.
I have the manual, so there was no "tranny tune" for me.
