It's not a rebate. It's a manufacturer-to-dealer incentive and the last I remember it's good until May 2nd. I got it with my purchase when I bought mine 3/11/11. Sticker was $38,625 and I paid $33,500. GM's incenting dealers to move their remaining 2010's. I can't remember the link to actually "show" the incentive and when it expires. Perhaps Edmunds. YOU don't get the incentive--your DEALER does but that's $3k you need them to knock off the sticker if the incentive is still active.

There are dozens of us on this board who have purchased new 2010 leftovers this year for $32k-$33k on $38k-$39k stickers. You're getting a terrible deal if you spend more than $5k under sticker for a new 2010 leftover. I wouldn't pay a cent over $31k for the car you're referencing. Most of the remaining 2010 dealer inventory will start going to auctions soon. There are still hundreds of SW 2010's SS's listed on Chevrolet.com

Hell, Zag pricing on 2011's in some areas is already $3k below MSRP. My area is about $2500 under MSRP. Obviously these are coupes and not 'verts.

BTW,

so I proceed to say "That is 1k more than MSRP on a 1 year old car". He said yes the extra 1k comes from some extra thing where they etch the vin on every part of the car so it can be identified (I thought this was standard).
or a crook or a liar or all of these. Also, since 2010's started getting delivered June 2009 it's a LOT more than a year old car.
