Most of the V-10s any of us have experienced (mainly Dodge and Ford) are variations of V8s, so they have exactly the same size cylinders (and pistons, and head design, and manifold design, etc..) They sound different because the V8 fires every 90 degrees and the V10 fires every 72 degrees.

Yes I wasn't going to get into angle and just touched on timings. What I was focused on was depth of tone.
