There's nothing inherently wrong with owning an automatic. Whatever floats your boat. Just like there's nothing inherently wrong with owning a V6.
Still, I don't think you find many (if any) people asking "Why didn't you get the Automatic", just like you don't find many people asking "Why didn't you get the V6". People DO ask why you didn't get Manual or a V8. Why? Because that's most peoples perception of what the Camaro -should- be. It doesn't mean you're wrong to get different options though.

If you read the thread, nobody's trying to "justify" anything. We're just giving our reasons why we made the choice we did. It seems to me, after reading this whole thing that the M6 guys are the ones trying to justify their choice.
The question was why DID you get the auto. Not why DIDN'T you get the manual.
As far as people not getting the V8 though, well I'm stumpped on that one
Another reason to get the auto over the manual? I can get a bj on the highway without my wife having to stop every time I need to shift gears.
For that alone, auto wins.
