Most of the top name brand octane boosters do work quite well. You often have to use more than one bottle to notice anything in a full tank.

I had a street/strip car for a while with a 10.75 to 1 C/R 454 BBC. It was very sensitive to octane. With just 93 in the tank it would knock like you were dropping marbles in a tin can at throttle tip in. 2 bottles of octane boost in the tank and it screamed without a single knock. At that time I was using 104+ brand.

Those that don't think it works have never had a car that really needed a little more octane. It won't make 93 into race gas. But if you just need a point or two of octane, the good stuff works pretty good.
