I had a street/strip car for a while with a 10.75 to 1 C/R 454 BBC. It was very sensitive to octane. With just 93 in the tank it would knock like you were dropping marbles in a tin can at throttle tip in. 2 bottles of octane boost in the tank and it screamed without a single knock. At that time I was using 104+ brand.
Those that don't think it works have never had a car that really needed a little more octane. It won't make 93 into race gas. But if you just need a point or two of octane, the good stuff works pretty good.

The "octane boosters" increase octane by a tenth of a pont. It would take ten bottles to go from 93 to 94 octane. Your "point or two" argument shows how little you know about it.
Oh, my last car-supercharged V8 10:1 compression running 11PSI of boost.
