I'd be proud.
It makes no difference how you look at it - if the CTS-V can reach a top speed of 193, there's no doubt in my mind we're going to see a 200mph production Z/28. The idea is pretty astounding but entirely possible.
Though, for the sake of the new Z/28's future reputation, I hope it's very expensive.
The last thing we need is a group of morons getting their hands on supercars, just to beat them to pieces over the next twenty years - not to mention all the tuner kids ready and willing to butcher them up... The Camaro has always been my favorite car, but I have to admit - it's gotten a bad rap over time from village idiots, battered housewives, druggies, trailer trash, etc..
The last thing I want is the new Camaro to fall victim to the same process. Of course, this slightly higher starting price (which reflects the technological advancements of the new car) will help keep that from happening.
Either way, I'd say GM will hold off on production for a little bit due to the financial crisis. It wouldn't look good to the government if they started building a new supercar with the bailout money they've been given.
Either way, I seriously would love to see that thing rocket around the Nurburgring faster than almost everything else, while costing less than half as much. I'd be proud.
