For some reason I think UTI doesn't allow you to work while you attend school (i could be making that up). Depending on your financial situation you may want to think about that and how much money you have to borrow. If you have to borrow tuition and living expenses it is probably not worth it. If you have a place to stay and only have to borrow tuition then maybe it is.

You don't have to have a formal education to be a mechanic, but my advise is get one even if it is at a local technical school. Education pays off, as do certifications (ASE).
Thank you for the input! As for the tuition... I got the GI Bill for that
