I ordered mine while being over here as well. I was able to find a dealership that could do everything via e-mail, up until the deposit on the order. At that point, my dad had to do that in person for me. My deployment (3rd one actually) ends in about 2 weeks, finally. Based off of my dealership's March allocations, mine should be pulled in for April's production, and I will be able to take delivery of it shortly after going home for block-leave. If it comes sooner, my dad can take delivery of it with a power-of-attorney. (It still sounds odd to me that I have to rely on my dad for some things, at my age!)
If you want a 2010 badly enough, it is possible. If you aren't impatient, keep saving for a bigger downpayment, or pay it in full upon delivery, for a 2011. If you do order now, and keep it at a family member's house in the States, you could always look at it from the perspective that you'll have a 2010 with almost 0 miles on it when all the rest of us will have racked up some serious mileage on ours.
