For everyone reading this thread:
Notice I have not revealed where I am other than NY and I am not doing this to solicit business from other dealers. We have a guide number of 9 and only took 15 pre-orders and are not accepting any more until the car gets released in volume. So you know my motive here is not financial.
That being said, I would like to make a small statement about the purpose of this thread. I know there are dealers (like myself) that read this thread. To all of you, I know how difficult business is and I hope I am not causing trouble for you by offering this info. Actually, the easier it is for the customers to understand by reading this thread, hopefully they won't be busting balls and being uneducated about the process. Therefore making it easier for everyone. SInce I haven't received any "death" threats from dealers, I will assume all is cool.
To everyone else, please understand that the car business is just like any other. There are experts and then there are slackers and everyone in between. Try to cut your dealer some slack. Most of you are dealing with salespeople who have less understanding of the process than you do now (thanks to me, LOL). If you call the dealer for info, please be nice and try to talk to a manager that handles the orders. If he blows you off, there's no excuse for that and once you get your Camaro, hopefully you won't need the dealer for anything past that.
Thanks for listening.
