The sensor that detects ambient light is on the dash...atleast it was on my 4th gen...so anything that you put over the sensor that blocks natural light from coming into the car you run the risk of the sensor thinking its darker out then it really is...I just don't want my auto lights coming on when its just cloudy out. The visibility wasn't that bad with the 35% on the windshield...and yea I mean the whole windshield not just a strip. I had 5% on the sides and 15 on the back...on a bright sunny day you couldn't see thru my windshield from the outside..it looked dark which is why I'm considering going with 50% on the windshield this time...you almost didn't need Sunglasses cuz it was so dark in the car. And not to mention that it blocked all the uv light from fading the dash the cops around here are cracking down on window tint so I'm thinking 20% on the side/back and 50 on the windshield...but I'm also debating just doing 35 all the way around
