Its not a discount off the car. It is a set price. So if the MSRP was lets say 38k and they are giving you 4k off.... you will not get the entire GM discount... they dont stack is what im trying to say. I have the GM Supplier discount and went through the same thing, months of research and phone calls I went throught before I figured all this out lol. Deffinately doesnt hurt to ask. However invoice price (or $1k off invoice) is probably the best they will do untill the 2012s come out of it has been sitting on the lot.
How it works is GM will give the Dealer a number for a car...lets say 34k now if you have Supplier or Employee discount, all GM does is tell the dealer that GM will take the hit for the price to 33k or w.e they dont say 1k off of whatever price you agree on...if that makes sense. PM me for more info I went through all of this and like I said months of research before I got mine for invoice price....which was $300 less than my GM Supplier discount.
EDIT: Wow long post..lol Simplified version..... It is not a "Employees get $2k off" its a Employees get it for 2K off MSRP (or whatever it actually is), if the dealer gives the customer a discount of 2K...then the "Employee discount" is meaningless.
