Don't forget. In almost every video I've seen, the Mustang 5.0 gets off the line faster than the Camaro SS. The Mustang 5.0 hooks up quite well with its 255 series tires. It also has a higher lateral G. grip with these tires.
The fastest stock 5.0 times have come with real fast (for stock) 60' times. You don't run fast 60' times without having excellent traction off the line.
If the 5.0 ran the same tires as the Camaro, it would be a slower car.

I know... the taller the tires the more rotations to turn it. Thats why I would never buy the 21"s for it. It still seems crazy to me that a car that light without very wide tires can hook up and go without losing a ton through traction control trying to hook up. I had a G8 GT that I had some bolt-ons/tune with 245s in the back on 19" rims and it was all over the road once it dropped into pasing gear WOT (unless I was doing ovr 50mph). Although.. this WAS on the road and NOT a track. Either way... although I'm not big on how it looks and believe Ford could've made it look more "retro"... I do like the 5.0. The upside to that is some competition to go along with all the 14 second mustangs that run around here
