Under normal situations, I'd agree. If i go out right now and rev my car to red line, I am sure it will be fine.... RPMs slowly come up.
Now take the same car and do a 3K clutch drop, the clutch grabs and for a split second holds then BAM instantly goes to FULL torque. The stresses are WAY MORE than simple revving the engine.
I could be wrong... and like has been said, we will never really know... even if the pin is broken. What will be really odd is if the pin is intact.
