As a speculator, I can't see why we're even asking if the Camaro is a success. Look at the numbers! Look at this forum!

I would comment that the future is uncertain. In terms of how most large businesses operate, so many businesses focus in the nearest future. It's because they have to. Investors and regulations are focused on the here and now. Especially as the stock market becomes so accessible to so many people. Quarterly results. Year to date. Everything beyond that is a moving target, even regulations. Who knows what's to come? The Camaro is undoubtedly experiencing success here and now.

I would imagine an 'updated' or successor to the current 5th gen Camaro has been discussed internally by GM at some point. It's too soon to talk about specifics other than model changes for the current generation.

My hope would be that as the market evolves and the competition changes that the Camaro team decides to keep up (and quite frankly, trounce) the competition if/when the market dictates a new model.

My other hope is that GM has moved beyond allowing good models to become the victims of time. The outgoing 4th gen car was long in the tooth when it exited in late 2002 in terms of design, quality, and features (to its defense, it was still revolutionary in some ways, and still very powerful!). And so went the way of the Cobalt, the Impala, and the Colorado...
