Not trying to be funny or a smart ass either, its just the way it is. Mufflers baffle and restrict to quiet it down... a straight through design is going to be louder...also bigger pipes will be louder..

I'm not convinced that straight thru exhaust systems increase power. You do need backpressure. Besides, I'm not looking for a better 1/4 mile time or to have a loud racing bomb. Just want a better sound that doesn't deafen the cockpit (or the neighbors), but a "slight" power increase which I expect with the JBA's. Is that a reasonable request? Does anybody have any numbers that show the combined effect of a CAI and a good axle back exhaust?
