At some point in my distant past, I worked in the motion picture industry with an emphasis on character vehicles/ stunt vehicles/ etc. Just be sure that the production is carrying enough insurance to cover any loss (including complete, as well as liabilities... say $2 million) and that you are
named as additional insured. If this is a legitimate production it is standard procedure and they shouldn't be surprised by the request.
And yes... I used to beat the living crap out of cars that we sourced from the general public, but we always returned them better than we got 'em, even if it meant complete paint and body make-overs, whatever it took.
