I don't think that's very accurate. It's really more engine specific.
Many Camaro owners. Not your typical forum members. Will probably never pop the hood much less bother to put in anything but 87 Unleaded.
So it will detect knock and adjust as needed.
With the SS your gonna want super if you can afford it. V6 probably will run great on the cheap stuff. Just my 2c.
