If the OP wants to do bracket racing then most likely he'd already have the answer.
And, yes shifting at higher RPM's (5+k) manual shifting has proven to be a PITA. It's really, unfortunate that the automakers don't fix the issue which is simply applying a larger flowing master cylinder and / or ensuring the syncro rings are dependable.
