My speed was set at 83 in a 70. So not super fast but fast enough. I would pass these cars like they were standing still then all of a sudden they would catch up and stay about 3-4 car lengths behind me. If I changed lanes, they followed. It was kinda weird. Almost like they were saying "if a cop is ahead, they are going to nail the camaro first"

It hasn't happened to me because it's usually other cars passing me on the highway, (I go 72, little incident made me change my ways real quick
) but I could definitely see that being the case. A state trooper would most definitely nail the Camaro first.
