I felt your pain on the bike rack issue. Coming out of a Suburban which was heaven to haul my bikes around I was stumped about the bike rack but believed and still do, that it was worth the change because the only reason I needed a big SUV was to haul my bikes, my friends bikes etccc. SOOOOOO, here's what ya do! I've done this and it works, BUT, ya have to be oh so freakin careful, like lay a blanket over the trunk for sure. Back seat layes down so take your front wheel off, remove your seat post and oh so carefully manuever your baby in the trunk. I actually have video of my husband showing me how to do it. For none riders they'll think we're stupid, but for me it made my car the PERFECT car for me! Good luck! I wouldn't lean your bike on your car though, lol!
