If there is an issue with the pedal feel I can guarantee you there will be aftermarket springs for the pedal to apply feedback :P
I don't like the CONCEPT of drive by wire, but I understand that it is supposed to improve simplicity and driveability (oddly enough :P).
Physical linkages are always subject to wear, often wearing poorly (stretching or catching) while electronic/electrical connections are usually more reliable... But I like the precision of a cable throttle, especially with a manual transmission.
Let's just hope that the pedal feel and precision of the new ETC are prime
