I just returned home to Florida from an 18 state, 4 province, 6600 mile, 20 day road trip in my 2011 LS 6 spd manual Camaro.
I took my time and for the most part kept the RPM's under 2000 on the highways. The 6600 miles included driving around in downtown DC, Philadelphia, New York and Cleveland plus driving a lot of back roads just enjoying the drive.
I was able to achieve 30.2 MPG for the entire trip and was very pleased.
My Camaro is completely stock and the only addition is a K&N air filter.
