Back in the day my wife and I had 4 Manual vehicles between the two of us (Wrangler, S-10 4x4, Fiero, and her Echo) and then...bam...her left knee went out.
She was out of commission and could not drive stick for 4 years...so we started getting automatics. She drives stick again now, and really loves them.
We've decided three cars is perfect...4x4 truck for crappy weather and hauling, econo-car for daily driving, and fun 5-speed for crazy mountain driving!
If you have more than one car, it's nice having at least one of each...to tap in to your practical side, unleash your fun side, and cover your a$$ if something unforeseen happens! Arm leg, shoulder, or neck injury can really screw you over if all you have is a manual tranny.
