I would definitely attempt this myself, but the problem isn't really lack of desire or mechanical know how........it's lack of space.

my driveway is at an extremely steep angle, and my garage is full of shite. Doing it on the street is out of the question also.

I hear what you are saying though, I'm sure all I'd need to do it is a spring compressor, a way to jack the car up, and hand tools (which I have the stuff for that, just not the space).
