If you're plugging a high level output into a low level input, you'll have two problems: the output of the speakers will be way out of sync (too loud at low volume setting) and you might have background noise or whine from the speakers.

If you want to keep the same equipment unmodified, you could use a line output converter to bring the subs speaker outputs back down to low level
