I think some feelings are going to be hurt when the ZL1 comes out. From Car & Driver's Lightning lap:
C6 ZR1: 2:49.8
C6 Z06: 2:58.2
C6 GS: 2:58.5
C6 LS3: 3:01.2
C6 LS2: 3:03.6
CTS-V Sedan: 3:04.0
CTS-V Coupe: 3.04.2
Camaro SS: 3:09.5
The CTS-V is a 4200lb car with the 556hp LSA, 6-speed, magnetic shocks in the suspension, and beefy brembo brakes. Gee, that sounds like a ZL1... even if the ZL1 comes in at 3900-4100 pounds (I predict 4000) and has 570hp or so, that probably won't be enough to shave 3 seconds off of a road course lap. I bet a 2007 Corvette
LS2 will put up a good fight against a ZL1 on a road course, while the C6 LS3 will be tougher to catch and the GS/Z06/ZR1 untouchable.
I'm not saying the ZL1 won't be an amazing beast, and I'm not saying I don't want one. However, the reality is we're talking about a 4000lb (or more) large sports car with a supercharged motor and 20" rims. C6 Z06 killer it is not.
