i like to get rid of my gills and just put a huge gaping slit there and some thin wire mess behind it to prevent rocks and crap flying into it my 2 cents
like bumblebee from the movie he has a slot there i think it makes it look more like a jet fighter
but on the cheap end of things i will be cromeing mine out some day
