I agree with what you're saying here. I've had zero problems with LEO's and my current Camaro.
However, I think there's a point to be made that some LEO's do go after "noticeable" cars.
My first 3 cars were Camaro's. When I was young (17-23), I got pulled over a few times (3 that I can remember) when I was doing NOTHING wrong, or even a hint of anything wrong.
All three times, the LEO said "did you know you were speeding back there?"
All three times I pointed out that I absolutely wasn't. Somehow they didn't have their radar on either. Go figure. So, I got two "warnings" and a seat belt ticket, which was back in the day when they couldn't pull you over for that but could ticket you if they pulled you over for something else.
Why did they pull me over? I don't know. Was it the car? Maybe. I think it was more likely the car, plus a young guy driving it. I absolutely believe some LEO's pull people over who they want to check out further, and make up a reason like "you were speeding" to justify it.
