Give it a shot waxing it and see where it goes. You could even try leaving it out in a good rain storm to see if that removes the fading look (not that rain is known to do that). Also, try a good paste wax, or even liquid, to really bring out the luster. I have heard that Black cars are difficult to keep pristine, but I wouldn't panic too much yet.
