My Dyno Chart
I went to DynoSpeed/Premier Motorsports in Memphis yesterday to dyno tune the Camaro. Forest (Gump for short), did the tune and he did a great job. I was surely expecting higher numbers, but with 99 degree temps and high humidity, I was ok with it. What was impressive is that he was able to fix a 5500 rpm stumble and he got 21 more foot pounds of torque and another 12 HP from my Janetty email tune. More interesting, the Memphis International Raceway opened for the first time yesterday for test and tune...it was awesome. What really tells the temperature/humidity story was the very poor ETs for all of the cars. Examples: my Camaro ran a best of 12.98 worst 13.03 has always run 12.7s, no one in the street tire lanes beat me, including a Viper (13.2), C6 Vette (13.2), Challenger R/T (13.6), 4 other 5th Gen Camaros all LS3s running 13.2 to 13.6 including one supercharged) etc. etc. So, did the tune work, not so impressive on the dyno chart but compared to others at the drag strip, I got a winner...can't wait until cooler weather!
Oh, Forest said VaraRam equipped cars dyno a little lower than realtime power because the Vararam expects speed to give it the Ram Air effect.
