Good luck with that, had the exact thing happen to me before. It was not noted on the sheet I signed. I was pist but really had no recourse. It cracked from under the windshield wiper and didn't notice it until they said something. I told them I would just pay out of pocket, they tried to charge over 100+ in bs fees. I then get a call from my insurance as they filed a claim with them and it was for a bumper and windshield. I was more infuriated. I got it all squared away and just paid for the windshield. Just have to be careful when renting cars.
