I think it was a Magnusson or Eaton write-up I saw about an LS3 that showed that the 2300 had a good peak but lost a lot of low-mid power and that the 1900 was better suited unless someone planned on stroking and camming with forged internals.
Anyways I've also read that the LS3 really need to go forged pistons either way and strengthen the valve train... Not a neccessity but it goes a long ways to bullet proofing this already badass engine!
