I doubt it. this powertrain is pretty robust
From what I've read on the G8Forum is that that 2300 is actually a little too much for a stock LS3. I forget who it was that posted that statement, but it was someone who was either on the team that intalled or developed the 1900 for that car, or someone very close to that project. I don't remember them going into exact specifics, however, if the 'Stang-boys are throwing 2.6L, or what have you, SCs on their stock 4.6s, why can't we do the same? I believe we have higher compression, but, like you said, if we run low boost, why can't we do that?...
If Z28 can't come back, I'll be looking into either a Maggy' or a Whipple. I'm getting 600 horse' one way or the other

I think it would be more feasable for them to offer a 1900 and still be able to keep the warranty. but as for the 4.6... that thing lives for FI.

Anyways I've also read that the LS3 really need to go forged pistons either way and strengthen the valve train... Not a neccessity but it goes a long ways to bullet proofing this already badass engine!

depending on how much boost you plan on going with, forged internals are def a required upgrade. the stock motor will probably hold a good deal of boost stock ~10-15psi intercooled. but if you are going FI, might as well be sure you can trust every part of the motor
