Anyway, 203 cars were entered into this particular car show. $15.00 registration fee each car.

At 4:00 P.M. the time came for the awards. The awards were standard for a car show; top 75, 10 best of catagories, 3 motorcycle awards, 1 Mayor's award and 1 Best of show.

After all was handed out, not one Modern car one!!!!

The modern cars entered were: 7 Mustangs, 2 Challengers and 1 (my) Camaro 2SS/RS

The name of the car club sponsoring the car show was Ky Klassics Car Club.

Now, we all know that there is a large contingent of folks who believe that a car show is/was and always should be Classic or antique vehicle's, and that more and more car shows are adding Modern vehicles as a seperate judgeable class.

Now here is where the rant begins. I am not pissed that my Camaro didn't win. However at least 2 of the Mustangs should have won. Both had cams, visually nice superchargers, and custom paintjobs, easily putting their vehicle's worth around $60,000 if not more. 1 of the Challengers had some cosmetic mods including custom paint job.

Before anyone asks about the visual aspects of the classic cars that won, I will tell you this. Most of them were very deserving. Several were 68, 69 Camaro's etc. But, for an example there was a 64 Mustang, decent shape, but had rusting rocker panels. One 69 Camaro in front of me (Yellow/Black) had SS badges front and rear, and he even told me himself it was not an SS, he just slapped the badging on there.

To put this more into perspective, there was a base model, stock 89 Mustang behind me. It had been taken care of, but the original blue paint was faded, the engine compartment dirty, and overall nothing special.

It was absolutely clear that this particular car club was not going to award a thing to a modern car. And honestly that is fine, if that is what they want to do (remember, they have the word Klassics in their name).

However, I feel that, A. Post it in the advertisement they ran in the local newspaper that you will not judge or award a trophy to modern cars...and B. don't accept the $15.00 dollar registration fee that was paid by me and the 9 other modern cars there. They pocketed $150.00 from 10 of us that they had no intentions of awarding a trophy to.

Again, so that it is understood, I am not pissed that I didn't win, but I can tell you that 2 of the Mustangs and 1 of the Challengers definately deserved to win.

I do believe that my Camaro should not be judged equally with a 68, 69 Camaro, because quite simply, mine is not in the same class as a very well cared for and fully resored 69 Camaro. Therefore, I do not even look at the Best GM catagory, or Best Ford Catagory etc. going to a modern car, and honestly it shouldn't. But, either have a seperate catagory such as Best Modern, or do not accept the fee from a modern car if you choose not to consider any award for it!!!!

Rant over, carry on!!!
Well spoken i completely agree. If there is no modern muscle class why did they take money from you . You just wanted to park your car rightful so on the lawn to show off how beautiful it is. I admire your honest nature in saying a mustang and other are far above your car. And how you can not compare them to classic cars well said. They should have had a modern muscle car group just cause its Klassic or how ever it is spelled lol. Don't mean that the modern muscle don't hold a place most car clubs like that well GOOD ones. Do there man focus on classics but also show others love something that big of an event. With that meny awards is stupid not to have a modern muscle car award.

With all that said i am glad you at least had a good time i love going to car shows and showing off nightfall.

P.S When i go to car shows and lose i am sad alittle mad and disappointed. Its just my competitive nature. But in truth i know there is cars far outside my own and i am ok with that. I wish i had money to make a true show car but eh what ever. I go to car shows for a good time show off my car and talk with other car people. Its what car shows are there for but i think judges are all bias anyways never take the time to look over cars talk to owners. They just pick a shiny one or one they wish they could own and hand them an award. IMO and to the camaro owners who do win great you deserve it and i am happy for you and not trying to take anything from your victory. . But that is not always the case and not from what i seen in my car show experiences.
