Lets see. Negatives:

Any oil in the intake air charge will reduce the amount of usable octain thus less power release per explosion or combustion event.

Any oil in the intake air charge will result in detonation and the ECM will pull timing resulting in les power & pour fuel economy...and after a certain period will default to the low octaine tables.

Oil in the intake air charge will cause carbon deposits on the intake ports, valve tupips, and piston tops negatively affecting the volumetric efficiency, flow, burn pattern and quench area. The carbon is also extrremely abrasive (near diamond like) and as pieces break loose and get trapped between the cylinder & piston scoring will result as well as premature wear.

On a top mount super charger, the tolerances are so close and the rotors so finely nbalanced that the varnish & oil residue over time will cause rotor to rotor interference as well as negativly affecting the balance shortning the head units life.

The Pluses:

.........can't think of a single plus and have yet to see any respected FI engineer with anything but alarm when they talk about oil ingestion on a FI build.

Anyone got a clue as to what could possibly be a plus to oil ingestion in the intake air charge?
