Just do what others have told you to do as far as manually tracking your own mileage.

But really, if you really don't want to do all of that, next time you fill up with gas, reset you AVG MPG and then try your best to drive normally for however long until you have to fill up again. You should see a very nice improvment in your average.

I've seen as high as 28mpg average on a good little trip that included hills and turns and driving through a small town or two.

My actual average is 22, but then again I tend to get on it for a bit at least once every trip or every other trip lol.

Something else you could try eventually is taking her out on the freeway for a good 10 to 20 mile run. When you get up on the freeway reset your avg mpg and then after several miles of driving, if your going 65 or 70 you should see an average in the high 20s at least.
