It appears your state it is "criminal" has a 1000 dollar fine attached to it. May be why he didn't write it, but you guys have some crazy traffic fine schedules up there...Our state has a criminal classification and a moving violation classification varying on the degree of the offense... its pretty weak. A good cop will sit on it and wait until you have other violations attached such as speed, racing, or reckless.

I have no problem with people chirpin the wheels just a tad, it's all in good fun and if they aren't speeding past that, it hurts no one... as long as I know they didn't see me and it wasn't a rub in my face.

Agree with Brantley on this one as well. DE also has the same kind of Statute.
I don't normally mess with people unless they are literally smokin' the tires. The excessive acceleration rests too much on the opinion of the particular officer who is observing the action. What one officer thinks is excessive may be fine in my eyes... its not as cut and dry like some other violations.
