P90x is a phenomenal program if you can be strict with your diet and do it EVERYDAY. Even if you take a week off, you can always resume, but it's best to make it a lifestyle as opposed to a quick "get ripped" thing (because it will get you ripped).
In terms of supplements, I feel like they are for losers. All you need is some Whey Protein with bananas and peanut butter, for example.
I've never cared for shakeology.
EDIT: Sorry, you did not mention supplements. I have not tried the recovery formula, but I've heard that it is nice and it does work. Also, for protein bars I picked up met-rx, so I can not help you in that area either.
