It has clear coat, they add a "sealer" which is usually a silicone based wax. Its not gonna hurt it but it doesn't need it and assuming you are going to take proper care of your car, you can get a better finish on your own using a cleaning and waxing regimen of your own choosing. Whether its a silicone based wax or traditional carnauba, if you properly prep and wax it, it will glow for years and years. If you are not going to wax it then let them put the protectant on.

My reservation is that the lot guys use dirty rags and wash mits on car after car after car and dirt and debris gets trapped in the wash mits, or worse the cleaning media in an auto wash, and that foreign matter can and does scratch your brand new paint. They may or may not use proper towels when drying the car either and that leads to more scratches. If they apply a sealer with and orbital, they can cause all kinds of trouble including swirl marks and can even damage the paint if they are not careful.
