The Judge has always kind of reminded me of the old Confederate LaMat Revolver. It was a 9 shot .44 caliber that also had a 16 gauge center barrel just below the main barrel, for a single shot in close (I think he made a .36 caliber version too). It was made famous by Confederate General Beauregard, although many others carried them as well, like J.E.B. Stuart. There currently is a modern version of the LaMat for sale.
