Well, the logical answer to all of this was for GM engineers to design the wire loom and hose routing to be clean, with neat, 90 degree corners wherever possible and tucked away off the top of the engine. You look at other mfgs, and they do not need covers to hide hideous workmanship:
There are some wires and hoses visible which is to be expected, but they are neatly organized and look
great..... that is the real intake manifold on there. The valve covers pop out at you. The only covers are the carbon fiber caps at the front and back of the engine.
